Students must have access to a multimedia computer with a 28.8
or faster modem and a full service connection to the internet through a service
provider such as, Earthlink, PacBell, AOL, or AT&T.
Internet Access is available to Golden West College students at the Learning
Resources Student Computer Center, located in the Library in Room 130. This
lab is hooked up to GWC's high speed network. If necessary, Learning Resources
student Computer Center staff will assist students in creating e-mail accounts.
There is a fee of $8 each semester. Contact the Learning Resources Student
Computer Center at 714-892-7711 extension 50111.
The following are the only browsers recommended:
- Netscape Navigator version 4.0 or higher
- Netscape Communicator version 4.5 or higher
- Internet Explorer (IE) version 4.0 or higher
| Note to AOL Users: If you use America Online (AOL) for web
access, you will need to log-onto AOL version 4.0 or higher and then
open up Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape. |
Most of the WebCT software you will use resides on the GWC server. However,
you will also use other applications that reside on your own computer, such
as applications used for word processing.
